Job Type: Full Time
Job Category: IT
Job Description
Experience: 8+ Years
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and
implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performance Snowflake
architectures.
- Drive the implementation of
medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) and enterprise data
modeling standards.
- Design and implement
transformation frameworks using dbt (data build tool) for modular,
testable, and version-controlled data models.
- Design and standardize
automated onboarding and environment provisioning frameworks for rapid,
repeatable deployments.
- Provide technical leadership to
data engineering teams building ELT/ETL pipelines and data transformation
workflows.
- Design, implement, and govern
CI/CD pipelines for Snowflake objects, data pipelines, and IaC
deployments.
- Establish best practices for
performance tuning, cost optimization, clustering strategies, workload
management, and resource governance.
- Conduct code reviews, and
enforce development standards across teams.
- Mentor engineers and act as the
primary technical escalation point for Snowflake-related initiatives.
- Collaborate with
cross-functional stakeholders including Data Architects, DevOps, Cloud,
and Security teams.
- Define and drive enterprise data strategy and operating model,
including data domain ownership, data product thinking, SLA/SLO
definitions, platform roadmap planning, and alignment with business KPIs.
- Establish enterprise data quality, governance, and metadata
management frameworks, including automated data validation, lineage
tracking, catalog integration, schema evolution controls, and regulatory
compliance (e.g., PII governance).
- Lead modernization and transformation initiatives, including
legacy EDW decommissioning, large-scale data migrations, streaming-first
architectures, and adoption of event-driven and lakehouse patterns across
the organization.
- Lead Snowflake platform performance, scalability, and cost
optimization initiatives, including advanced query tuning (Query Profile
analysis, micro-partition pruning, clustering key strategy), multi-cluster
warehouse optimization, and enterprise cost governance using Resource
Monitors and chargeback frameworks.
- Design and govern secure, enterprise-grade Snowflake
environments, including cross-account and cross-region data sharing
(Secure Shares, Reader Accounts), robust RBAC models with least-privilege
principles, dynamic data masking, row access policies, and disaster
recovery/failover strategies.
- Drive implementation of scalable ingestion, orchestration,
and observability frameworks leveraging Streams & Tasks for CDC,
Snowpipe/Snowpipe Streaming for near real-time data pipelines, and
comprehensive monitoring using ACCOUNT_USAGE, INFORMATION_SCHEMA, and
custom telemetry dashboards.
Required Qualifications:
- Snowflake extensive hands-on
implementation experience.
- 8+ years of experience in data
engineering and enterprise data warehousing.
- Proven experience leading
automated, scalable onboarding and provisioning frameworks.
- Deep experience implementing
CI/CD pipelines using Git, Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps, or similar
tools.
- Advanced SQL expertise and
strong programming skills in Python or similar scripting languages.
- Hands-on experience with cloud
platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Demonstrated experience leading
technical teams and driving architectural decisions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Snowflake certification
- Familiarity with DevOps and
DataOps best practices.
- Experience with
enterprise-scale migrations to Snowflake.
- Exposure to multi-account
Snowflake strategy and cross-region data sharing.
- Strong stakeholder
communication and solution design documentation skills.
