Role: SDET (Backend/API Automation – Java, Rest Assured) – Level II / III

Location: Remote (Preferred: Washington, DC / New York, NY)

FTE only

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) with strong expertise in backend/API automation testing.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Java, Rest Assured, and building scalable test automation frameworks for microservices-based applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain API automation frameworks using Java and Rest Assured
• Automate test cases for RESTful services and backend systems
• Collaborate with developers, QA, and DevOps teams in an Agile environment
• Validate data across services, databases, and APIs
• Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.)
• Perform test execution, debugging, and root cause analysis
• Ensure high test coverage and quality across releases

Required Skills & Experience:

• 6+ years (Level II) / 9+ years (Level III) in QA Automation / SDET roles
• Strong programming skills in Java
• Hands-on experience with Rest Assured for API automation
• Experience testing RESTful APIs & microservices architecture
• Knowledge of TestNG / JUnit, Maven/Gradle
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)
• Strong understanding of SDLC/STLC and Agile methodologies
• Experience with version control tools (Git)

Good to Have:

• Experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber)
• Knowledge of Docker / Kubernetes
• Exposure to performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling)
• Database validation using SQL
• Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
