Role: Windchill Data Migration Architect

Job Summary

We are seeking a Windchill Data Migration Architect with deep expertise in PLM data strategy, migration, and transformation to lead large-scale data migration initiatives into PTC Windchill environments.

This role will be responsible for defining migration architecture, data models, cleansing strategies, and ensuring high-quality, compliant PLM data across engineering and manufacturing systems.

The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge of Windchill data structures and hands-on experience migrating complex legacy PLM, ERP, and CAD data.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and lead the end-to-end data migration strategy for PTC Windchill implementations and upgrades
• Analyze legacy PLM, ERP, and CAD data sources and design data mapping & transformation rules
• Architect migration frameworks, tools, and processes for:

• Parts & Documents
• BOMs & Product Structures
• Change Objects (ECR, ECO, MCO)
• CAD metadata

• Work with business, engineering, and IT teams to ensure data quality, integrity, and governance
• Develop and execute data cleansing, normalization, and validation strategies
• Utilize Windchill migration utilities and tools such as:

• Windchill Bulk Migrator
• LoadFromFile
• Info*Engine
• Custom scripts/utilities

• Oversee data extraction, transformation, loading (ETL) processes
• Design reconciliation, audit, and verification frameworks post-migration
• Support Windchill upgrades and consolidation programs
• Identify data risks and mitigation strategies during migration phases
• Establish data standards, naming conventions, and governance policies

Required Skills & Experience

• 14+ years of experience in PLM data migration, with strong focus on PTC Windchill
• Proven experience as a Data Migration Architect or PLM Data Lead
• Deep understanding of:

• Windchill data model
• Object relationships & lifecycles
• BOM and product structure management

• Hands-on experience with Windchill migration tools and utilities
• Strong SQL and database knowledge (Oracle / SQL Server)
• Experience working with CAD integrations (Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
• Knowledge of ERP–PLM data synchronization
• Experience in large-scale legacy system migrations
• Familiarity with ETL concepts and scripting (Python, Shell, etc.)
