Job Title: Java and WebSphere Software Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented and dedicated Java and WebSphere Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing Java applications and working with WebSphere technologies. As a Java and WebSphere Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that meet the needs of our clients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Design and develop Java applications using Java/J2EE technologies.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement software solutions.
3. Monitor performance and ensure the scalability and reliability of software applications.
4. Troubleshoot and debug issues that arise during development or in production environments.
5. Create and maintain technical documentation for all software solutions.
6. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies related to Java and WebSphere.
7. Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
8. Collaborate with quality assurance teams to conduct thorough testing of software solutions.
9. Implement security measures to protect software applications from potential threats.
10. Provide technical support to clients and respond to their queries in a timely manner.
11. Conduct system performance analyses and recommend improvements for optimal efficiency.
12. Monitor and maintain application servers, databases, and other related infrastructure components.
13. Assist in the deployment and integration of software solutions into production environments.
14. Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to define project requirements and goals.
15. Continuously enhance technical skills and knowledge through self-learning and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in developing enterprise-level Java applications.
3. Strong knowledge of Java/J2EE technologies, frameworks, and design patterns.
4. Hands-on experience with WebSphere Application Server and related technologies.
5. Proficiency in web development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related frameworks/libraries.
6. Experience with SQL and database technologies, such as Oracle or MySQL.
7. Familiarity with cloud technologies and deployment platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
8. Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
9. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
10. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
11. Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
12. Detail-oriented and highly organized, with a strong focus on quality and delivery.
13. Knowledge of software testing methodologies and tools.
14. Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies is a plus.
15. Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional) preferred.
