Job Title: Mainframe Developer
Job Summary:
As a Mainframe Developer, you will be responsible for developing, analyzing, and maintaining mainframe applications and systems. You will work closely with a team of software engineers, system analysts, and project managers to ensure efficient and effective mainframe operations. Responsibilities and Duties:
- Analyze business requirements and technical specifications to develop mainframe applications.

- Design and code applications using mainframe programming languages such as COBOL, PL/I, Assembler, and JCL.
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging of applications to ensure they meet quality standards and perform optimally.
- Identify areas for system optimization and propose enhancements to improve efficiency and performance.
- Perform maintenance and modifications on existing mainframe systems, including troubleshooting and bug fixes.
- Collaborate with database administrators and system administrators to ensure seamless integration and data integrity.
- Document technical specifications, system architecture, and coding standards for future reference and knowledge sharing.
- Stay updated with the latest mainframe technologies and industry trends to suggest innovative approaches and improvements.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Mainframe Developer, including software development and maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of mainframe programming languages such as COBOL, PL/I, Assembler, and JCL.
- Familiarity with mainframe database systems (e.g., DB2) and related tools.
- Proficient in problem-solving and troubleshooting complex mainframe applications.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of agile software development methodologies is a plus.
- Any related certifications in mainframe programming or development will be an advantage.
