Job Title: HMIS System Administrator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified individual to join our team as an HMIS System Administrator. As the HMIS System Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) to ensure its smooth operation, data integrity, and optimal utilization. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to address system issues, implement system upgrades, and provide technical support.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Administer the HMIS by creating and managing user accounts, permissions, and access levels.

2. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of HMIS data through regular data quality checks and troubleshooting.

3. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and resolve HMIS-related issues and provide technical support.

4. Perform routine maintenance and updates of the HMIS system, including installing upgrades and patches.

5. Develop and implement data collection and reporting procedures in compliance with relevant policies and regulations.

6. Train staff on HMIS functionality and best practices to ensure efficient and accurate data entry and reporting.

7. Monitor system performance and conduct periodic audits to identify and address potential vulnerabilities or inefficiencies.

8. Generate reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to support program evaluation and decision-making processes.

9. Participate in meetings and committees to represent the HMIS team and contribute to system improvement efforts.

10. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in HMIS technology to inform system enhancement strategies.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.

2. Proven experience as an HMIS System Administrator or similar role.

3. In-depth knowledge of HMIS software platforms, preferably in a homeless services environment.

4. Proficient in database management and querying languages (e.g., SQL).

5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

7. Ability to organize and prioritize tasks in a dynamic work environment.

8. Familiarity with data privacy and security regulations (e.g., HIPAA) and experience implementing them in HMIS.

9. Experience in conducting system trainings and providing technical support.

10. Strong documentation and reporting abilities.

11. Knowledge of homeless services programs and related data collection requirements (e.g., HUD, VA).

12. Ability to work independently as well as a part of a team.
