Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems and components for various projects. Your expertise in mechanical design will play a crucial role in ensuring the functionality, reliability, and safety of our products.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Designing and developing mechanical systems using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software.
2. Creating detailed designs and drawings of components and assemblies, incorporating manufacturing specifications, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
3. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, project managers, and manufacturing personnel, to ensure smooth project execution.
4. Conducting design analysis and simulations to optimize product performance, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
5. Performing calculations and feasibility studies to determine project specifications and parameters.
6. Conducting design reviews and providing feedback to improve product design, manufacturability, and efficiency.
7. Identifying and troubleshooting design issues and implementing corrective actions.
8. Overseeing prototype development, testing, and validation, and analyzing test data to verify design performance.
9. Keeping up-to-date with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in mechanical design engineering.
10. Assisting in the preparation of technical documentation, including design reports, user manuals, and maintenance guidelines.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
2. Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer, preferably in a relevant industry.
3. Strong proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Creo.
4. In-depth knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, manufacturing processes, and relevant codes and standards.
5. Familiarity with simulation software (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus) and finite element analysis (FEA) techniques.
6. Ability to interpret and generate technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically during the design process.
8. Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
9. Effective communication and collaboration abilities with interdisciplinary teams.
10. Detail-oriented mindset and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
11. Solid project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and meeting deadlines.
12. Knowledge of product lifecycle management (PLM) software is a plus.
13. Familiarity with mechanical testing and validation procedures.
14. Understanding of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies for continuous improvement.
15. Professional certification (e.g., Professional Engineer license) is desirable.
