Job Title: Lab Technician
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Lab Technician to join our team. The Lab Technician will be responsible for conducting various laboratory tests, analyzing samples, and recording accurate data. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with other team members. The Lab Technician will work closely with scientists and researchers to support important research projects and contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Perform laboratory tests and experiments following established procedures and protocols.
2. Prepare samples and specimens for analysis, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
3. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.
4. Conduct routine quality control checks to maintain accurate and reliable results.
5. Document procedures, observations, and data accurately, ensuring traceability and compliance with regulations.
6. Analyze test results and communicate findings to relevant team members or researchers.
7. Collaborate with scientists and researchers to identify and troubleshoot laboratory issues.
8. Assist in the development and improvement of laboratory techniques and protocols.
9. Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the laboratory, including proper waste disposal.
10. Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
11. Stay updated with the latest industry trends, techniques, and technologies related to laboratory operations.
12. Maintain accurate records of inventory and order necessary laboratory supplies.
13. Adhere to relevant regulations and standards, such as ISO and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
14. Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.
15. Assist in the training and supervision of junior staff and interns.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., biology, chemistry, or biochemistry).
2. Proven experience working as a Lab Technician or in a similar laboratory role.
3. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
4. Familiarity with laboratory techniques, equipment, and instruments.
5. Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
6. Good written and verbal communication skills.
7. Proficiency in using computer software for data analysis and record-keeping.
8. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
9. Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and regulations.
10. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
11. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
12. Strong work ethic and commitment to accuracy and quality.
13. Flexibility to work occasional weekends or extended hours if required.
