Job Title: GCP Architect
Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented GCP Architect to design, develop, and manage our Google Cloud Platform infrastructure. As a GCP Architect, you will be responsible for ensuring the scalability and reliability of our cloud-based applications and services, while optimizing costs and maintaining security. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand the business requirements and translate them into efficient GCP solutions.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Design, develop, and maintain Google Cloud Platform infrastructure architecture based on business requirements
- Implement scalable and reliable cloud-based applications and services on GCP
- Optimize cost efficiency by selecting appropriate GCP services, monitoring resource utilization, and implementing cost-saving strategies
- Collaborate with development teams for seamless integration of applications and services with GCP infrastructure
- Configure and maintain network connectivity, security, identity, and access management within GCP
- Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues, system outages, and security vulnerabilities
- Implement disaster recovery and backup solutions to ensure business continuity
- Stay up-to-date with GCP services, trends, and emerging technologies to propose innovative solutions
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and management using Infrastructure as Code (IAC) tools
- Document architectural designs, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures
- Conduct periodic system performance analysis and capacity planning
- Assist in defining best practices, guidelines, and standards for GCP usage
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience as a GCP Architect or a similar role
- In-depth knowledge of Google Cloud Platform services, including Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, App Engine, Kubernetes Engine, BigQuery, and Dataflow
- Strong proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, security protocols, and IAM policies
- Familiarity with cloud architecture frameworks and best practices (e.g., well-architected framework, 12-factor app methodology)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IAC) tools such as Terraform or Cloud Deployment Manager
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Relevant certifications like Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Architect or similar are highly desired
