Job Title: Component Engineer

Job Summary:

As a Component Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development, evaluation, and selection of electronic and electro-mechanical components used in various products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the overall functionality, quality, and reliability of components, while adhering to industry standards and regulations.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Research, evaluate, and analyze electronic and electro-mechanical components for various projects.

2. Collaborate with design teams to select the most suitable components based on technical requirements, cost, and availability.

3. Conduct component testing, including performance, functionality, and durability assessments.

4. Provide technical support in the design, development, and production phases of products.

5. Create and maintain component specifications, datasheets, and other related documentation.

6. Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.

7. Identify potential component substitutes and propose alternatives to improve functionality or reduce costs.

8. Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and component innovations.

9. Analyze and troubleshoot component-related issues during development and production stages.

10. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve component-related challenges and optimize product performance.

11. Participate in supplier qualification and assessment processes.

12. Conduct failure analysis and recommend corrective actions for any component-related failures.

13. Support production teams in component sourcing, inventory management, and obsolescence management.

14. Stay aware of industry standards, regulations, and certifications relevant to components used in the products.

15. Continuously improve component engineering processes and techniques to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.

2. Proven experience as a Component Engineer or in a related role.

3. Strong understanding of electronic and electro-mechanical components, their functionalities, and applications.

4. Extensive knowledge of component selection criteria, including performance, quality, and reliability parameters.

5. Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices for component engineering.

6. Proficient in component testing and evaluation techniques.

7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

8. Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

9. Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and build positive relationships with suppliers.

10. Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.

11. Self-motivated with a proactive attitude towards continuous learning and professional development.

12. Proficient in using computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant tools.

13. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain management.

14. Familiarity with project management principles and practices.

15. Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
