Job Title: Account Reconciliation Analyst

Job Summary:

The Account Reconciliation Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data by reconciling accounts, identifying discrepancies, and resolving issues. This crucial role involves analyzing financial information, preparing reports, verifying financial records, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The Account Reconciliation Analyst plays a vital role in maintaining the financial health and compliance of the organization.

Responsibilities and Duties:

- Perform regular reconciliation of financial accounts to ensure accurate reporting

- Identify discrepancies and investigate causes to ensure data integrity

- Prepare financial reports by analyzing and summarizing financial data

- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve outstanding issues and discrepancies

- Develop and implement best practices for account reconciliation processes

- Maintain documentation of reconciliation activities and report findings to management

- Monitor and report on financial compliance with company policies and applicable regulations

- Assist in financial audits by providing necessary documentation and support

- Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend solutions

- Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in account reconciliation

- Cross-train team members to enhance departmental efficiency and redundancy

- Collaborate with IT teams for system enhancements and in troubleshooting reconciliation issues

- Coordinate with external stakeholders such as auditors, vendors, and banks, as necessary

- Provide guidance and assistance to team members on complex reconciliation matters

- Contribute to ad-hoc financial projects and initiatives as assigned by management

Qualifications and Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field

- At least 3 years of experience in account reconciliation or a similar role

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant financial software

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

- Ability to clearly communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders

- Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines

- Strong organizational and time management skills

- Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance

- Experience with ERP systems is preferred
