Job Title: Ciena Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Ciena Engineer to join our team. As a Ciena Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Ciena network solutions. You will work closely with clients to understand their networking requirements and provide effective solutions leveraging Ciena technologies. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of Ciena network equipment, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Design and implement Ciena network solutions as per client requirements
- Conduct network assessments and provide recommendations for improvements
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues on Ciena platforms
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to clients and internal teams
- Develop and deliver technical training to customers and colleagues
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Ciena technologies and advancements
- Ensure network scalability, performance, and reliability
- Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps
- Participate in the development of new network solutions and strategies
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Minimum of X years of experience as a Ciena Engineer or a similar role
- Strong knowledge of Ciena network equipment, including switches, routers, and optical transport devices
- Proficiency in network protocols such as Ethernet, MPLS, TCP/IP, OSPF, and BGP
- Experience with network management tools and software
- Solid understanding of network security principles and best practices
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Relevant certifications, such as Ciena Specialist or Professional level certifications, are preferred
