Job Title: Procurement Specialist

Job Summary:

As a Procurement Specialist, your main responsibility will be to oversee and manage the procurement processes of an organization. You will be responsible for sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services while maintaining optimal inventory levels. Your attention to detail and ability to analyze market trends will contribute to the success of our procurement operations.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Develop and implement procurement strategies based on organizational needs.

2. Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish long-term partnerships.

3. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and forecast future procurement needs.

4. Maintain updated knowledge of market trends, pricing, and product availability.

5. Manage the procurement process from purchase order creation to product delivery, ensuring compliance with company policies.

6. Analyze and evaluate supplier performance to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

7. Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and assess their capabilities.

8. Assist in the development and optimization of procurement policies and procedures.

9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support projects and initiatives.

10. Ensure timely resolution of any supplier-related issues or disputes.

11. Monitor and report on key performance indicators to measure procurement effectiveness.

12. Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and contracts.

13. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements to identify potential improvements in procurement practices.

14. Conduct supplier audits and implement quality control measures to ensure adherence to standards.

15. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills within procurement.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

2. Proven experience as a Procurement Specialist or in a similar procurement role.

3. Strong knowledge of procurement processes, regulations, and best practices.

4. Proficient in using procurement software and tools.

5. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

6. Attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.

7. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

8. Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.

9. Familiarity with sourcing and procurement techniques in different industries.

10. Previous experience in contract management and supplier relationship management.

11. Knowledge of relevant legislation, including local and international trade regulations.

12. Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

13. Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

14. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

15. Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management (e.g., CSCP, CPIM) is a plus.
