Job Title: Senior Openstack Architect, Livingston
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Openstack Architect to join our team in Livingston. The Senior Openstack Architect will be responsible for designing and implementing Openstack cloud infrastructure solutions, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect and deploy complex cloud environments while providing technical leadership and mentorship to other team members. As a Senior Openstack Architect, you will play a critical role in shaping our organization's cloud strategy and driving innovation.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Design, develop, and implement Openstack cloud solutions tailored to the specific needs of our organization
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable cloud architecture
- Lead and contribute to the deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of Openstack infrastructure
- Investigate and recommend enhancements to optimize the efficiency and reliability of the Openstack environment
- Develop and maintain documentation related to cloud architecture, design, and implementation
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior team members
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices in the Openstack ecosystem
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Openstack infrastructure with other technologies and systems
- Participate in the evaluation and selection of cloud service providers, tools, and technologies
- Identify and resolve complex technical issues and provide timely solutions
- Conduct knowledge transfer sessions and trainings to IT staff on Openstack technologies
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Proven work experience as an Openstack Architect or similar role for a minimum of 5 years
- Strong knowledge and experience in developing and deploying Openstack-based cloud infrastructure
- Expertise in Openstack components such as Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Glance, Keystone, and Heat
- Proficiency in virtualization technologies (KVM, VMware, etc.) and networking infrastructure concepts
- Deep understanding of cloud computing principles, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.) is a plus
- Solid knowledge of Linux systems administration and scripting (Bash, Python, etc.)
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a strong attention to detail
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Openness to continuous learning and adaptation in a rapidly evolving technology landscape
