Role: Principal OCI Architect
Location: Fully Remote (PST Time)
Position Type: Fulltime FTE Permanent

Position Details:

We are seeking an experienced Principal OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of OCI-based solutions. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in OCI, cloud architecture, and a strategic mindset to drive cloud transformation initiatives, ensuring scalable and secure solutions aligned with business goals.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Experience: 15-20 years of experience in IT, with at least 5-10 years in cloud architecture.
  • Expertise in OCI: Proven experience in designing and deploying solutions on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
  • OCI Services Knowledge: Deep understanding of OCI services, including Compute, Storage, Networking, Database, Security, Monitoring, etc.
  • Cloud Environment Experience: Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
  • Automation Skills: Strong expertise in automation tools (Terraform, Ansible) and scripting (Python, Shell, etc.).
  • Containerization: Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven leadership and mentoring experience.
  • Certifications: OCI Architect Professional certification is highly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Multi-cloud Expertise: Experience with other cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • ITIL & DevOps: Knowledge of ITIL practices and DevOps methodologies.
  • Database Technologies: Background in database technologies such as Oracle Autonomous Database, Exadata, or RAC.

Responsibilities:

  • Cloud Architecture Design: Develop and implement robust OCI solutions tailored to meet business and technical requirements.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance to teams in designing and deploying cloud solutions on OCI.
  • Solution Optimization: Continuously improve cloud performance, security, and cost-efficiency.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, application development, and security, to ensure seamless integration and delivery.
  • Roadmap Development: Define and maintain OCI architectural standards, best practices, and a cloud adoption roadmap.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Present complex cloud strategies and solutions to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Governance and Compliance: Ensure solutions adhere to industry standards and organizational compliance requirements.
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Oversee operational monitoring, troubleshoot issues, and lead root cause analysis efforts.
