Job Title: HP UX Administrator with VMware & EMC Storage Experience
Job Summary:
Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced HP-UX Administrator with strong expertise in VMware Virtualization and EMC Storage (VNX/VRTX) for a contract role. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in data-center environments, managing server infrastructure, virtualization platforms, and storage systems to ensure high availability and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
· Administer and maintain HP-UX environments, including system installation, patching, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
· Manage and support VMware virtualization infrastructure including vSphere, ESXi hosts, vCenter, and VM provisioning.
· Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot EMC storage systems (VNX, VRTX).
· Perform regular backups, system health checks, and proactive monitoring of servers and storage devices.
· Work on server provisioning, migrations, and system upgrades within the data center.
· Collaborate with the network, application, and security teams for issue resolution and project delivery.
· Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and change management.
· Participate in on-call rotation and provide support during off-hours for critical incidents or maintenance windows.
Required Skills & Experience:
· 5+ years of experience in HP-UX system administration.
· Strong hands-on experience with VMware virtualization technologies (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter).
· Expertise in managing and supporting EMC VNX / VRTX storage solutions.
· Solid understanding of data center operations, including power, cooling, and hardware racking.
· Experience in scripting (Shell, Bash, etc.) for automation and task scheduling.
· Familiarity with ITIL processes and ticketing systems like ServiceNow.
· Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
· HP-UX Certification or VMware VCP certification.
· Experience with backup tools (e.g., NetBackup, Veeam).
· Exposure to Linux/Unix environments in addition to HP-UX.
