Position: Senior IT Technical Business Analyst
Location: Fully Remote (Edmonton, Alberta CAN- T5J 3W7)
Long Term Contract with Possible extension
Note:
• Work must be done from within Canada, due to network and data security issues.
• It is primarily the role will be 100% remote, however in the event of an onsite meeting, the GoA does not pay for travel to attend on-site meetings, nor any expenses related to relocation, commuting, housing/accommodation, food/drink.
• The expectation will be for the resource to work from the office 3 days a Month
• This resource will primarily work remotely; however, the resource may be required to attend meetings or work sessions in office on reasonable notice from the Province. At the time of providing such notice, the Province will advise of the expected duration of any such meetings or work sessions. However, time to travel and any associated expenses to and from Edmonton and/or travel within Alberta will be at no cost to the Province.
Project Overview:
Technology and Innovation requires Information Technology (IT) professional resources to provide a Senior Business Analyst for the project delivery of the Appeals Commission Case Management System to support the GoA Service Delivery within the ministry of Technology and Innovation.
Senior BA that will facilitate workshops, produce documentation of current and future state, produce RFP’s and provide support, change management and coordination for implementation of software to modernize and enhance the business.
Responsibilities / Duties:
• Lead consultations and facilitate stakeholder meetings.
• Create business requirements, functional specifications and technical requirements.
• Create new business and technical processes and complete business process reviews/re-engineering for existing processes.
• Facilitate business process improvement sessions.
• Facilitate vendor and business workshops to translate business requirements to technical requirements.
• Schedule, organize and lead project status meetings at all levels (business, vendor, TI) and other meetings as required.
• Provide support by bridging communication between vendors, client ministries, and corporate technical and business teams.
• Escalate unresolved issues/risks, options and recommendations.
• Participate iterative development to provide oversight and ensure TI connections are provided to vendor.
• Perform project coordination, business and technical analysis for implementation of a complex case management system.
• Prepare, update and manage documents defining the business requirements, software requirements, functional design, and project plans and schedules reflecting achievable deliverables for the applications.
• Prepare regular project status reports indicating project deliverables, possible risk and issues, time-lines and anticipated effort.
• Ensure appropriate project communication occurs to all parties involved during all phases of the project.
• Identify and support in the development of required user training and materials.
• Identify and support in the development and implementation of User Acceptance Testing.
• Additional responsibilities as required by the Project Manager for a Business Analyst or Lead Technical Analyst role
