Role: SharePoint Analyst
Location: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, T6H 5T6
Work Arrangement: Primarily remote; may be required to attend in-person meetings or work sessions with reasonable notice from the Province.

Required Skills:
- Proven experience in User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) design to develop intuitive and visually appealing user-centered intranet experiences.
- Ability to translate business requirements from non-technical stakeholders into user-centric designs, ensuring a balance between functionality, usability, and design constraints.
- Strong working knowledge of SharePoint Online and Content Management Systems (CMS) including content migration best practices.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and experience working with modern front-end frameworks.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite or similar design tools is considered an asset.
- Ability to design and implement custom SharePoint components such as web parts, themes, and workflows is considered an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot SharePoint-related issues effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct user requirements gathering and maintain clear communication with project stakeholders.
- Migrate content from legacy intranet platforms to new, modernized SharePoint Online pages.
- Design and build responsive, user-friendly intranet sites using SharePoint Online and out-of-the-box features.
- Customize SharePoint components including web parts, lists, libraries, workflows, and content layouts.
- Create custom themes, templates, and branding elements to align with Government of Alberta’s branding guidelines.
- Optimize site structure and navigation to ensure user-friendly access and discoverability of content.
- Implement CMS best practices, ensuring consistent and impactful communication across SharePoint sites.
- Automate workflows to streamline and improve content publishing and review processes.
- Perform business analysis and detailed design of SharePoint solutions based on stakeholder needs.
- Provide technical support (Tier 1 and Tier 2) for SharePoint-related issues such as access, errors, and usability concerns.
- Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and implement timely, effective resolutions.
- Work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design enhancements, and implement updates to SharePoint applications.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, user manuals, and training guides.
- Participate in testing and quality assurance to ensure SharePoint solutions meet performance and usability standards.
- Stay current on SharePoint trends, best practices, and new technologies, and assess their applicability.
- Support business requirements and complex design solutions using out-of-the-box SharePoint functionality.
- Provide expertise in designing and supporting Microsoft SharePoint environments and related systems.
- Validate data and content throughout migration efforts to ensure accuracy and integrity.
- Address operational SharePoint issues and support ongoing SharePoint operations.
- Prepare routine reports correlating time spent with duties performed.
- Collaborate closely with Government of Alberta technical staff and other stakeholders as required.
