Job Title: Desktop Support Specialist

Job Summary:

Our company is seeking a skilled Desktop Support Specialist to provide technical support and assistance to our employees for all desktop and laptop-related issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to provide exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Provide technical support to employees for desktop, laptop, and peripheral devices.

2. Install, configure, and troubleshoot software and hardware.

3. Set up new computers and migrate user data.

4. Manage user accounts, passwords, and access rights.

5. Maintain inventory of hardware and software assets.

6. Ensure security and compliance with company policies.

7. Document support activities and resolutions.

8. Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve complex issues.

9. Train employees on proper computer usage and best practices.

10. Stay up-to-date on new technologies and best practices in desktop support.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.

2. 2+ years of experience in desktop support or a related field.

3. Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems.

4. Experience with Active Directory, Office 365, and network troubleshooting.

5. Excellent communication and customer service skills.

6. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

7. Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) preferred.
