Job title: Oracle DBA - PL/SQL
Job Summary:
The Oracle DBA - PL/SQL is responsible for managing and maintaining Oracle databases, including writing and optimizing PL/SQL code. This role involves ensuring the performance, security, and availability of databases, as well as troubleshooting and resolving any issues that may arise.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle database software
- Design and implement database structures and objects
- Develop and optimize PL/SQL code for database applications
- Monitor database performance and tune for optimization
- Backup and restore databases as needed
- Implement security measures to protect data
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues in a timely manner
- Collaborate with developers and other team members to support database-related projects
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in Oracle database administration
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Proven experience as an Oracle DBA with expertise in PL/SQL development
- Strong understanding of database management and performance tuning
- Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and Exadata is a plus
- Knowledge of database security best practices
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Oracle certification is preferred but not required
