Role Overview
The Disaster Recovery (DR) Lead is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the organization’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategy. This role ensures the availability, resilience, and rapid recovery of critical IT systems and infrastructure in alignment with business objectives, risk posture, and compliance requirements.
Core Responsibility
Lead and manage the organization’s disaster recovery strategy, ensuring business continuity across critical IT systems and infrastructure.
Strong hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, and cloud environments.
Deep understanding of backup and recovery technologies, replication strategies, and high-availability architectures.
Develop, maintain, and update comprehensive DR plans aligned with business objectives and compliance requirements.
Define Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) for critical systems.
Plan and lead disaster recovery exercises, including tabletop drills and full-scale failover tests.
Document test results, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions.
Evaluate and recommend DR tools, platforms, and services based on technical fit and cost-effectiveness.
Perform Proof of Concept (POC) for DR software solutions to validate functionality, performance, and integration before adoption.
Manage relationships with vendors and service providers for DR solutions.
Conduct risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities in IT systems.
Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 22301, NIST) and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate with IT operations, security, and business units to align DR strategies with organizational goals.
Provide training and guidance to teams on DR processes and responsibilities.
Monitor emerging technologies and trends in disaster recovery and business continuity.
Drive process improvements to enhance resilience and reduce downtime.
