Job Title: Automation Test Engineer with Java (Selenium)

Location: Sunnyvale, CA or Austin, TX
Onsite Requirement: 3 days per week

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Java Automation Test Engineer to join our Quality Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java-based automation frameworks, REST API testing, and web automation using Selenium, with a solid background in manual and functional testing. This role requires hands-on expertise in designing and building automation frameworks from scratch and close collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Apple experience is strongly preferred. Candidates must have Big Tech and Retail/e-commerce experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based automation frameworks for web and REST services
• Create and execute manual and automated test cases for web and e-commerce applications
• Perform REST API testing and automation using industry best practices
• Develop data-driven and service-oriented test automation solutions
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QE teams to define test strategies and test plans
• Build and maintain test environments, test beds, and test data
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Gradle
• Analyze test results, identify defects, and drive issues to resolution
• Ensure high-quality releases through functional, regression, and integration testing

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Java within a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)
• 7+ years of experience with:
• JUnit / TestNG
• Jenkins, Gradle
• SQL
• JSON and XML
• Strong experience in REST API test automation
• Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver for web automation
• Proven experience building automation frameworks from scratch
• 4+ years of Quality Engineering experience, with a focus on retail or e-commerce web applications
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP, and HTTPS protocols
• Experience working with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Couchbase) and caching strategies
• Strong analytical, communication, and coordination skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Apple experience (highly preferred)
• Experience working with Big Tech companies
• Experience with additional web automation tools (e.g., RAFT or similar)
• Exposure to cloud-based testing environments
