· Bentley ProjectWise (hands-on administration and support experience is required)
The IT Application Specialist is responsible for the administration, configuration, and support of CAD and engineering application environments, with a strong focus on Bentley ProjectWise and Bentley PlantSight. This role ensures configuration control, data integrity, and adherence to corporate CAD/BIM standards across engineering and design projects.
The specialist will work closely with IT, engineering, and business teams to optimize workflows, support system integrations, and deliver reliable, high-quality application support. Responsibilities include application setup, ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, user support, and training across Bentley platforms.
· Configure, administer, and support Bentley ProjectWise projects, including:
o Managed WorkSpaces
o Folder structures, properties, and metadata
o User access controls and permissions
· Configure and support Bentley PlantSight projects, including:
o User permissions and access management
o Data Manager utilities
o iModel support
o Reporting and dashboard configuration
· Enhance discipline-specific workflows and integrations between ProjectWise, PlantSight, and OpenPlant applications
· Define, modify, and maintain XML schemas for: OpenPlant 3D, OpenPlant PID
· Create and manage classes, properties, and relationships
· Perform schema imports/exports while ensuring enterprise-wide data consistency
· Create, manage, and maintain user accounts and permissions across Bentley platforms
· Set up new projects in alignment with client, departmental, and corporate standards
· Configure workspaces to support Bentley applications including: OpenPlant Suite, Promis.e, BRCM, OpenBuildings Designer, MicroStation
· Provide first-line technical support for Bentley applications and CAD systems
· Troubleshoot application, system, and user issues to minimize downtime
· Integrate ProjectWise and CAD systems with: Bentley applications (e.g., MicroStation), Autodesk tools (e.g., Navisworks)
· Support integrations with Microsoft 365 tools, including Teams and SharePoint
· Assist in diagnosing and resolving CAD-related hardware and software issues
· Partner with design and engineering teams to improve CAD productivity and collaboration
· Assist in implementing, enforcing, and maintaining corporate CAD/BIM standards
· Strong hands-on experience administering Bentley ProjectWise
· Direct experience with Bentley PlantSight, including setup, support, and maintenance
· Working knowledge of Bentley engineering applications, including: OpenPlant Suite, Promis.e, BRCM, OpenBuildings Designer, MicroStation
· Solid understanding of: CAD/BIM workflows, Document management systems, IT infrastructure concepts
· Familiarity with related engineering tools such as OpenRoads Designer
· Knowledge of SQL databases, Windows OS, and scripting
· PowerShell scripting experience preferred
· Experience with Microsoft Power Platform is a plus
