Job Title: Pega Scrum Master
Location: Onsite – Toronto, Ontario
Duration: 6–12 Months (Contract)
Work Type: 100% Onsite (No Remote / No Hybrid)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Pega Scrum Master (10-14 years) to lead Agile delivery for multiple Pega-based product teams within a large enterprise transformation program. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of the Pega delivery ecosystem, experience supporting Pega development teams, and a proven track record of driving predictable delivery, continuous improvement, and cross-team collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies including daily standups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Coach and guide Pega delivery teams on Agile/Scrum best practices and ensure adherence to Pega project delivery methodology.
- Work closely with Pega Product Owners, Pega Lead System Architects (LSAs), Developers, QEs, and BSAs to support sprint execution and unblock delivery.
- Ensure user stories are well-refined with acceptance criteria, Definition of Ready (DoR), and Definition of Done (DoD).
- Maintain sprint artifacts including velocity tracking, burndown charts, risk logs, dependency logs, and issue lists.
- Coordinate across multiple Pega pods to manage dependencies, integration touchpoints, and release planning.
- Monitor and escalate risks, impediments, and bottlenecks to leadership with clear mitigation plans.
- Drive continuous improvement through actionable retrospective insights and Agile maturity coaching.
- Protect the team from unplanned work and enforce Agile discipline to ensure predictable delivery.
- Promote transparency, accountability, and ownership within the Pega delivery squads.
- Use Jira / Azure DevOps / Rally or similar tools to ensure traceability and reporting across epics, stories, and test results.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10-14 years of experience in Agile delivery, including 4+ years as a Scrum Master on Pega projects.
- Hands-on experience supporting full SDLC delivery of Pega PRPC applications.
- Understanding of Pega terminology and components:
- Case types & workflows
- Data pages & decision rules
- UI screens & SLA rules
- Integrations (REST/SOAP)
- Proven experience delivering solutions in large enterprise environments using Agile/Scaled Agile frameworks.
- Experience managing cross-team dependencies, vendor teams, and multi-disciplinary delivery groups.
Preferred Qualifications
- Scrum and Agile certifications preferred (e.g., CSM, PSM, SAFe SSM, SAFe SASM).
- Pega certifications (CSA/CSSA) are a strong plus but not mandatory.
- Experience in banking, financial services, capital markets, or insurance industries preferred.
- Experience with CI/CD, DevOps pipelines, and automation is an asset.
