Role : SNOW discovery lead

A ServiceNow CMDB Discovery Lead is a specialized role responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the discovery of IT assets to maintain an accurate Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This involves configuring Discovery tools, managing MID servers, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with IT teams to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
Key responsibilities :
· Configuration and optimization Configure and optimize ServiceNow Discovery probes, patterns, credentials, and schedules to effectively discover and classify IT assets.
· CMDB health Ensure the CMDB is accurate, complete, and up-to-date by validating discovered data and resolving anomalies.MID server management Manage the performance and capacity of the MID servers, which are critical for executing discovery scans across the network.
· Troubleshooting Diagnose and resolve discovery failures and other issues by interpreting discovery logs and understanding CI relationships.
· Collaboration Work with various IT teams (e.g., network engineers, application owners) to ensure data accuracy, improve processes, and align discovery with business needs.
· Requirements gathering Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and document business needs for CMDB enhancements and implementations.
· Documentation Create and maintain technical documentation for discovery processes and configurations.
