Title: Workday HCM Core Functional Consultant

Location : Remote – Anywhere in the USA, must be able to travel 25%

Goal: 

Establish a “tier 2” team to provide additional build capacity for Workday functional needs. Resources would be able to manage lower - complexity builds with minimal oversight in specific domains. Additionally, they will require only light training on Workday tooling beyond what is specific to the Client environment. 

Skillset Definition

General Preferred Qualifications

  • uncheckedWorkday PRO certification in relevant tracks
  • uncheckedWorking understanding of integrations (EIBs, Core Connectors, Public APIs) 

HCM Requirements

  • uncheckedUnderstanding of foundational HCM principles including Business Processes, Reporting, Calculated Fields, Security, & Notifications 
  • uncheckedDemonstrated knowledge of Workday Docs, letter templates, Questionnaire, Survey, Reference Letters and custom alerts
  • uncheckedAdvanced hand-on process with Onboarding, Change Job, and Termination business processes
  • uncheckedAbility to create Calculated Fields and Custom reports
  • uncheckedStrong Understanding of building, maintaining and interpreting Security Group Permissions. 
  • uncheckedBe able to provide recommendations to Tier 1 Team  to fix incorrect transactions

Time & Absence Requirements

  • uncheckedUnderstanding of foundational HCM principles including Business Processes, Reporting, Calculated Fields, Security, & Notifications 
  • uncheckedAdvanced hand-on experience with time-off plan configuration including complex accruals, carryovers, shadow plans and touchpoints with leaves and time tracking. 
  • uncheckedAdvanced hands-on experience with leave configuration including balance periods, cascading leaves, intermittent leaves, and complex eligibility and validation rules.
  • uncheckedExperience with ancillary absence processes such as automated leave return, automatic balance adjustments and transfers, Sell Time Off and others.
  • uncheckedExperience with Workday time-tracking configuration, time submissions, and employee work schedules.
  • uncheckedExperience with reporting using the available Absence and Time Tracking data sources. 
  • uncheckedKnowledge of Workday’s API capabilities for the Absence and Time Tracking modules. 

Payroll Requirements

  • uncheckedUnderstanding of foundational HCM principles including Business Processes, Reporting, Calculated Fields, Security, & Notifications 
  • uncheckedWorkday Payroll processing knowledge including calculation, complete, and settle steps
  • uncheckedExperience with building payroll components (Earnings, Deductions, Account Posting Rules,Run Categories, Payment Election Rules)
  • uncheckedExperience with third party payroll configuration (External Earnings, External Deductions, External Inputs)
  • uncheckedExperience with reporting data sources for Payroll (Payroll Results) and Accounting (Journal Lines)
  • uncheckedKnowledge of payroll regulatory rules and their impact on payroll configuration
  • uncheckedKnowledge of payroll touchpoints (Time Tracking, Absence, HCM, Compensation, Benefits)
