Job Description
Role: Senior Network Data Center Consultant
Location: Boston, MA.
Contract
Note :- Candidate will be working collaboratively as part of a team that is performing activities with a global financial services company. Candidate will need expert level experience with network design, analysis, implementation, and troubleshooting. They will need to understand all aspects of the network from the data center core to the edge with expert level experience with routing of BGP, OSPF for a globally diverse network infrastructure. This will be a REMOTE role; however, the resource must be able and willing to be onsite on a monthly basis at the customer’s location in Boston, MA. Candidates must CURRENTLY reside in the New England area since they will be required to travel to the customer’s site every month for a few days. Responsibilities
Fundamental Primary Skills
Routing & Switching:
- Extensive experience with Data Center Core & Edge Routing and Switching platforms for LAN/WAN/MAN environments – Cisco/Nexus; Juniper, Arista,
- Expert Design, implementation, maintenance & troubleshooting
- Expert Routing protocols – BGP, OSPF, RIP
Networking:
- Data Center and Network Service Platform Experience – F5, InfoBlox, ACI
- Extensive experience with TCP/IP – design, subnetting, troubleshooting
Layer 2 Network Experience:
- Spanning Tree, VLANs, 802.1Q
Wireless & Remote Access:
- Some Experience with Wireless technologies in corporate environments
- Remote Access technologies – VPN, SSL
Additional Primary Skills
SD-WAN/MPLS
- SBC experience device configuration and troubleshooting - , Viptela, Velo Cloud, Versa, FortiGate, SilverPeak
QOS expertise
Network security
- Device configuration, troubleshooting & analytics – ASA/Firepower, Palo Alto, Illumio, Checkpoint, ZTA, Private Access, SASE
Scripting - Python
Optional - Secondary Skills
- Experience with Voice and Collaboration platforms – CUCM, Contact Center, Enterprise Cloud Voice platforms – Genesys, Avaya One Cloud, Twilio
- Voice Network Experience - SIP Head End Design, SBC experience (Ribbon, Oracle, and/or Cube)
- MS-Teams Cloud Integrated Voice & Direct Routing
- E911 Integration - Intrado ERS/EGW, RedSky
Preferred Experience and Attributes
- At least 10+ years of network experience in a large enterprise global environment with complex network infrastructure.
- 15+ Years Industry Experience working with cross functional teams
- CCIE or equivalent knowledge and experience
- Strong customer service and documentation skills
- Ability to work other business units and application teams and drive application owners to success.
- Strong sense of understanding the big picture and how everything comes together
- Strong ability to multi-task, prioritize activities and work within deadlines.
- Able to provide technical leadership to less experienced personnel either individually or as part of a team.
- Possess excellent organizational, communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Total of 15 years' experience in the Information Technology industry, with a minimum of 10 years as a network consultant.
