Typical Day in the Role
• Purpose of the Team: Develop and optimize operational processes for the buy/sell operations within the supply chain, ensuring efficient material flow and process improvement.
• Key Projects: Map current state processes, collaborate with SMEs to define future state, and implement new tools and reports to support buy/sell operations.
Typical Task Breakdown and Operating Rhythm:
o Conduct current state mapping and future state planning.
o Facilitate meetings with SMEs and stakeholders to gather requirements.
o Develop process documentation, tools, and reports.
o Collaborate closely with operations and engineering teams.
Activities:
· Onboard to existing processes, tools, reporting to establish and align Current State processes
· Develop processes, tools, and reports to support the BuySell Ops role in Phase 1.5, using own expertise and leveraging SMEs for cross-functional alignment
· Interface with Engineering and Project Management to establish requirements through change management
· Present functional decisions for alignment to MSFT mgmt. and support cross-functional alignment
Deliverables:
· Current State and Future State mapping
· Process documentation as well as Tool and Report development to meet future state goal
· Generate and maintain documentation to support the new role (Process and Flow, SAP Transaction Manual, Exceptions and Escalations, etc
Activities:
· Participate in UAT
Deliverables:
· Represent the Buy Sell Ops role within the UAT exercise, including change management, process/tool/report development, documentation
· Run the Business (after UAT)
Activities:
· Leverage the processes, tools, reporting to run the Future State processes
Deliverables:
· Support SAP transactions, like PO creation
· Transaction Manual and Automation
Activities:
· Create and maintain a Transaction Manual to supplement the official Business Processes to include escalation paths, examples, reports used, automation, etc to support handover of the role
· Automate workflows and recommend improvements
· Document lessons learned, potential improvements, links to reports, etc
Deliverables:
· BuySell Ops Transaction Manual
· Track efficiency improvements of workflow automation effort
· BuySell Ops Handover
Activities:
· Transfer knowledge, deliverables, project records, and other relevant materials to MSFT
Deliverables:
· Complete all documentation and open actions
· Prepare and transfer timebound deliverables
· Provide feedback in the form of a Best Practices and Recommendations summary

Candidate Requirements
• Years of Experience Required: 5-7 years (Level 3 expected).
• Degrees or Certifications Required: No specific degree/certification required; relevant operations or industrial engineering experience preferred.
• Disqualifiers: No supply chain or operations experience; inability to synthesize requirements and develop processes.
• Best vs. Average: Best candidates have strong supply chain/operations backgrounds and have led process development projects; average candidates may lack direct process mapping or supply chain experience.
• Performance Indicators: Effective process mapping, successful collaboration with SMEs, and delivery of actionable process improvements.
