Role: LabVantage LIMS Administrator

Long Term Contract – W2 & C2C

 

Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced LabVantage Administrator to support, configure, and manage the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for our client in Boston, MA. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing the LabVantage LIMS platform to support laboratory operations, ensuring data integrity, system stability, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the installation, configuration, and administration of the LabVantage LIMS platform.
  • Provide technical support for end-users, troubleshoot issues, and implement system enhancements as needed.
  • Collaborate with laboratory personnel to ensure the LIMS meets operational requirements.
  • Develop and customize workflows, reports, and dashboards within the LabVantage platform.
  • Oversee system upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance.
  • Ensure data integrity and security within the LIMS environment and compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, GxP).
  • Create and maintain system documentation, including user guides, SOPs, and technical manuals.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, including IT, QA, and lab staff, to align the LIMS functionality with business processes.
  • Manage user roles, permissions, and access control for system security.
  • Monitor system performance, conduct regular audits, and optimize system usage.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or a related field.
  • Overall IT Experience: 10+ Years
  • 5+ years of experience as a LabVantage Administrator or similar role in managing LIMS platforms.
  • Strong understanding of LabVantage configuration, customization, and integration capabilities.
  • Proficient in database management (e.g., SQL) and scripting for LIMS workflows.
  • Familiarity with laboratory workflows and operations in a regulated environment.
  • Experience with data migration, system validation, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GxP, 21 CFR Part 11).
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with technical and non-technical teams.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with API integration and external system connectivity (e.g., instruments, ERP, ELN).
  • Knowledge of reporting tools like Jaspersoft or Crystal Reports.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies for system development and deployment.
  • Exposure to cloud-hosted LIMS environments or virtualization technologies.
