Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Developer - ETL with strong expertise in SQL Server, SSIS, database development, and enterprise file processing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, testing, and supporting data integration workflows while coordinating with offshore development and QA teams.

Key Responsibilities

Database & ETL Development

• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications, data mappings, ETL rules, and implementation tasks.
• Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server objects, including tables, stored procedures, functions, views, indexes, and scripts.
• Develop, enhance, and troubleshoot SSIS packages for data extraction, transformation, loading, validation, and reconciliation.
• Analyze legacy DTS packages and support migration or remediation to modern SSIS-based workflows.
• Optimize SQL queries and troubleshoot database performance issues.
• Support database upgrades and compatibility validation activities.

File Processing & Integration

• Build and support inbound and outbound file-processing workflows, including parsing, transformation, and validation.
• Work with CSV, XML, delimited, fixed-width, report, PDF/AFP, marker, and control files.
• Perform end-to-end execution checks, output validation, reconciliation, and data-quality analysis.
• Coordinate with upstream and downstream teams to resolve transmission, integration, data-quality, and environment issues.

Testing, Release & Production Support

• Perform unit, integration, and regression testing, including baseline comparisons and defect remediation.
• Support QA, client acceptance testing, production deployments, and post-deployment warranty activities.
• Investigate incidents, perform root-cause analysis, recommend solutions, and document corrective actions.
• Prepare technical documentation, build guides, configuration notes, release notes, and handover documents.

Offshore Coordination & Delivery

• Coordinate with offshore development and QA teams to assign tasks, clarify requirements, track progress, and resolve blockers.
• Review offshore deliverables for quality, completeness, standards compliance, and deployment readiness.
• Support effective communication between onsite stakeholders and offshore teams to ensure timely delivery.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server and SSIS.
• Expertise in database development, SQL query optimization, and performance troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of ETL processes, data mapping, transformation, validation, and reconciliation.
• Experience with legacy DTS packages and migration to SSIS.
• Experience with enterprise file processing and multiple file formats.
• Strong testing, production support, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.
• Experience working with distributed/offshore development and QA teams.
• Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
