Job Title: Senior IT Consultant – DNS/DHCP Migration, Solaris Transition, and Application Development

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Consultant with extensive experience in developing and deploying complex IT services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in DNS/DHCP implementations, Solaris-to-Linux migration, scripting, and application development, particularly within Remedy ARS and related platforms. The role involves leading large-scale migrations, ensuring data integrity, and providing expert guidance on IT infrastructure and application transitions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. DNS/DHCP Migration and Management

• Develop and deploy custom DNS and DHCP servers and services with a proven track record spanning 5+ years.
• Lead the migration of in-house DNS implementations to third-party applications, preferably Infoblox, ensuring minimal disruption.
• Provide in-depth expertise on DNS/DHCP data structures and integration, including Windows DNS.

2. Solaris Server Transition

• Maintain and decommission Solaris servers with 10+ years of experience in Unix environments.
• Migrate Unix scripts from Solaris to Linux-compatible formats, ensuring smooth transitions.

3. Application Development and Scripting

• Develop custom applications using the Remedy Action Request System (ARS) and provide advanced expertise in Remedy application development.
• Script in Perl (10+ years) and JavaScript (5+ years), with recent experience utilizing REST APIs for automation and integration.

4. Network Infrastructure and Integration

• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of network devices, components, and inter-relationships to ensure data integrity across the infrastructure.
• Collaborate with teams to integrate network tools and datasets, with preference for experience in ServiceNow and CAS within the Province of BC ecosystem.

Qualifications and Experience:

• IT Service Development: 5+ years of experience developing and deploying complex IT services.
• DNS/DHCP Expertise: 5+ years of experience building and migrating custom DNS/DHCP servers and services.
• Scripting Proficiency: 10+ years of recent experience in Perl scripting and 5+ years in JavaScript.
• Solaris Expertise: 10+ years of experience maintaining Solaris servers and transitioning to Linux systems.
• Remedy ARS Knowledge: In-depth understanding of ARS and developing custom applications within the Remedy platform.
• Network Understanding: Advanced knowledge of network devices, data structures, and their interdependencies.
• Preferred Tools: Experience working with tools like ServiceNow, CAS, and Infoblox.

Preferred Skills:

• Expertise in integrating and automating using REST APIs.
