The Assistant Engineering Branch Manager supports the branch manager in overseeing daily engineering operations, ensuring project delivery, technical quality, client satisfaction, and team leadership. This role bridges the gap between technical execution and operational performance, helping lead cross-functional engineering teams across various disciplines such as civil, mechanical, electrical, or structural engineering.
Support branch manager in supervising engineering staff and project managers
Coordinate project planning, execution, budgets, and timelines across multiple clients
Review technical deliverables to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
Assist in hiring, mentoring, and performance evaluation of engineering staff
Maintain client relationships and support business development initiatives
Ensure adherence to quality control procedures, safety protocols, and company policies
Provide hands-on technical guidance when required in high-priority or complex projects
Monitor resource utilization, team productivity, and overall branch performance
Act as acting branch manager in their absence
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.); Master’s preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) license highly desirable (depending on discipline and region)
5+ years of engineering experience, including project or team leadership roles
Strong knowledge of project lifecycle, client communication, and engineering best practices
Excellent organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills
Proficiency with engineering tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, MATLAB) and project management software
