Job Title: Director of Perioperative Services
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Director of Perioperative Services to oversee and manage all aspects of our surgical services department. The Director will be responsible for ensuring optimal patient care, achieving operational goals, and maintaining regulatory compliance within the perioperative setting. This leadership role requires strong communication skills, the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, and a commitment to excellence in surgical care.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the perioperative services department, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to improve patient outcomes, optimize workflow efficiency, and enhance the overall patient experience
- Provide leadership and guidance to surgical staff, including surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals
- Collaborate with other departmental leaders to ensure seamless coordination of care across the healthcare continuum
- Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators, quality metrics, and financial targets to drive continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and best practices in perioperative care
- Participate in recruitment, training, and retention of qualified personnel to maintain a high-performing team
- Foster a culture of safety, professionalism, and innovation within the perioperative services department
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in perioperative services, preferably in a hospital or surgery center setting
- Strong clinical knowledge and expertise in perioperative nursing practice
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate interdisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in data analysis, performance measurement, and quality improvement methodologies
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and best practices in perioperative care
