Job Title: Teradata Consultant

Job Summary:

Looking for 8-10 Yrs. of Experience

We are looking for an experienced Teradata Consultant to join our data engineering and analytics team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Teradata architecture, SQL optimization, and data warehousing concepts. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale data solutions that support business intelligence and analytics initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Develop, optimize, and maintain Teradata SQL scripts, BTEQ, and load utilities (FastLoad, MultiLoad, TPT).

·         Design and implement robust data models and data warehouse solutions using Teradata.

·         Work closely with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and understand data requirements.

·         Tune complex SQL queries and manage query performance in large Teradata environments.

·         Monitor system performance and assist with capacity planning and optimization.

·         Perform data integration and ETL development using Teradata utilities and external tools.

·         Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with internal standards and external regulations.

·         Participate in the development of technical documentation and knowledge sharing within the team.

·         Support data migration and modernization projects, including moving from legacy systems to Teradata or vice versa.

Required Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

·         7+ years of experience working with Teradata in a data warehouse or analytics environment.

·         Strong SQL skills and understanding of Teradata-specific syntax and functions.

·         Experience with Teradata tools: BTEQ, FastLoad, MultiLoad, TPump, TPT.

·         Solid knowledge of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and data architecture.

·         Experience with performance tuning and query optimization in Teradata.

·         Familiarity with job scheduling tools (e.g., Control-M, Autosys) and version control systems (e.g., Git).

Preferred Qualifications:

·         Experience with BI/reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, MicroStrategy).

·         Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and Teradata in the cloud.

·         Knowledge of Python, Shell scripting, or other scripting languages.

·         Exposure to Agile or DevOps environments.
